Every time I browse The Library using the SkinBrowser portion of SDC, My monitor goes blank. I can't access anything and the only thing that fixes the problem is a reboot. This never happens any other time or with any other proggie. This has been happening for a couple of months now. I have been too busy to inquire about it sooner, but it is now really starting to drive me nuts!!!! All my drivers are current.

Would anyone know why this could be possibly happening?

Thanks in advance for any help

Sorry Lavant to be so long...assume both of us got sleep. Unless, you have 512 MB or more of ram (and I'm guessing you don't) that page file allowance is too small (even with 512 that's cutting it close). Also, if you have more then one drive, that is the total size for all drives. Since the System Managed Size is un-checked, it means it has been changed either by you or an Optimization proggie. The min setting is not the problem, but the max is. Leave it in custom setting and set initial size to one and a half your installed ram and make the max twice that amount. Do not set your minimum allowed any lower then 2 MB. The system won't use any more then it needs, so for testing purposes don't worry about the max setting as being too high...it doesn't matter.

You can run a machine on low page file amounts, even if you have a minimal amount of ram installed. Ram intensive proggies (like imaging) will hit your ram (virtual and actual) hard. When it eats all available ram it simply uses the page file (your disk will start thrashing about)...however when you run out of that, the computer will re-boot to clear the ram.

*sighs*

Thanks for all that you tried in helping me Gary

but...I give up...I will have to resort to using the classic viewing in SDC instead of using Thumbs.

Sorry it didn't work, Lavant. I love a mystery, but only if it's solved. Make sure you get that new computer on the Xmas list
